Backwaters
Backwaters are one of the biggest attractions of Kerala - so much so that they have made a bollywood flick by the same name.
Backwaters are essentially water from the sea that becomes trapped in land - Kerala has huge backwater stretches one such large stretch ~90 Kms is from Kollam(Quilon) to Alappuzha(Alleppey). By a normal 80 seater motor boat it takes around 8 hours to cover this distance.
On the way there is a stop for a restaurant on backwaters for lunch.

Sunset, paddy fields, Coconut grooves, chinese fishing nets, sea birds and children waving along the path make is an interesting ride.

A view of the broken land pieces and fisher men navigating.
